Graduation

This painting was made especially for a neighbor of mine. I didn't have a special idea, I just followed my brush and this is were I ended up. I was supposed to make something quite colorful and bright but I guess my brush disagreed a bit (I had orange, bright yellow and blood red in mind...). I consider that the painting has a kind of dreamy ambiance.
The painting is called simply "We" (50 cm X 50 cm).

A simple one

My painting factory's production line is doing well. This time I decided to leave my painting quite bare. I call this "The Window" (maybe 40cm x 60cm). I actually made the base for the painting like a year ago and just didn't know how to finish it.

Excessive use of paint

The theme is familiar but this time I didn't paint any ufos. (Well, that can be changed easily). I just splashed colors over and over again. I think I over painted this one like five or six times. I even scraped a lot of the paint off in the making process. I call this "Tree" painting as my most expensive one so far. By expensive I mean the amount of paint used in the making process. The painting is quite tall and narrow, something like 25 cm x 60 cm and the picture distorts the colors.

Lush Urania

I'm posting today two paintings at the same time. My diligence seems to be paying off. I consider this a good start for the year 2013 and I'm pretty sure to beat last years miserable number (only four paintings). I actually have few more paintings in the making.
The green painting is "Uranian Hanging Garden" (40cm X 40cm). I really liked how the lower part worked out, even though the dark purple dried up to almost brown. I'm not as happy with the upper part and I'm still considering the possibility of overpainting it. I like the electric blue but the execution and the idea is not quite right with the lower part. I think the problem is with the "painting technique".
The brown painting is "Uranian Mushrooms" (50cm x 60cm). I decided to use just really simple colors and especially brown, which is not one of my favorites in painting. I have painted some small mushrooms before and played with a few mushroom inspired ideas. This painting was not a result of those ideas.
For the mushrooms I used only brown, black and white. The small ones were especially fun to make. The ufos are there of course and they are painted with quite light pastel colors.

Palm tree

Once again this painting started out as something entirely different. I had a red and yellow background with two to three black figures, but no real idea. Then one part went just wrong and I ended up playing with my paints. After adding some green paint I decided to make a palm tree, because have been thinking about palm trees, white sand, sun and blue ocean for months now.
Painting is called "Uranian Jungle" and it's quite large, maybe 60cm X 80cm. I added few ufos with gold paint but you can see them only with right lighting. They are visible in this picture. Maybe the ufos were too much, but I just couldn't left them out.
This year seems to start better than the last year, because I have all ready finished two paintings. I'll be posting the next one soon. It also has a nature theme, but it's not as colorful and the style is different.

All about energy

I made the base for this painting a long time ago. My first idea was to paint something very light and so the light blue and silver. But like with so many other my paintings, things didn't go like planned. I just didn't get the real inspiration for something light. This is what I ended up with. It's called "Energy!" and it's 40cm X 40cm.
My ufos are different in shape this time and that's because I got to see one of the so called Futuro houses and that inspired me to use them.

White and pink

I may have gone a little overboard with details this time. I really liked the idea of the TV-heads hanging from the tree and ufos appearing. The original idea was to have a white or golden tree with pink background and colorful ufos, but the plan changed while working on it. The painting is called "The Drop" (40cm X 60cm).
